Yes. TikTok Shop includes a teleprompter in its creator recording tools. That does not mean every TikTok account has the same option in the regular camera. For shoppable videos, look for Video Assistant in TikTok Shop. For other recordings, you can read your script from a second screen.
Where is TikTok Shop’s teleprompter?
The US TikTok Shop Video Assistant guide, updated 27 August 2026, describes a path from Profile → shopping bag → TikTok Shop Creator Center → Videos → Video assistant. The menus may differ depending on your account and region.
- Choose the product for the shoppable video.
- Prepare or edit the proposed script and verify every product claim.
- Choose Create video with this script to open the recorder.
- Adjust the readable script display and rehearse a short section.
- Record a sample and review framing, delivery and product details.
Why isn’t it in the regular TikTok camera?
The UK TikTok Shop guide says the Shop teleprompter does not appear when you start recording with the usual + button. That guidance applies to the UK Shop feature; other accounts or regions may differ.
If you cannot find it, check whether your account has access to Shop Creator Center and follow the steps in your region's guide. In-app help may explain why an option is missing. Updating the app alone will not give an account access to Shop features.
Is a teleprompter effect the same feature?
A community effect, TikTok Shop’s recording prompter, CapCut’s mobile prompter and a browser teleprompter work differently. An effect called a teleprompter may not have the same controls as the Shop tool. CapCut's teleprompter is also separate from TikTok's camera.
CapCut documents a mobile recording interface. LilPrompter instead shows text on its own screen and cannot float above TikTok or record a camera feed. Start by deciding where your recording will happen.
What can you use if your account has no prompter?
For a phone recording, place a second phone, tablet or laptop beside the lens and load the script there. If you have only one phone, rehearse in the browser, switch to the camera and record short chunks. Copy the text manually; there is no LilPrompter pairing or cloud sync.
