Flip Your Script. Keep Your Setup Simple
Teleprompter Mirror
LilPrompter works as a free teleprompter mirror with built-in mirror mode. Flip your script for a beam-splitter rig, a tablet under glass, or any setup where reflected text needs to read correctly.
What Is a Teleprompter Mirror?
A teleprompter mirror setup uses reflective glass in front of the camera lens. The script sits on a screen below the glass, then reflects upward so the speaker sees the words while the camera keeps shooting straight through.
Because the text is reflected, it needs to be flipped first. That is what mirror mode does. It reverses the script so it appears normal when it hits the glass.
Without mirror mode, the speaker sees backwards text. With it, the setup works exactly as intended.
How to Use Mirror Mode in LilPrompter
Paste your script
Open LilPrompter, drop in your script, and set your font size and scroll speed first.
Turn on mirror mode
Flip the text before you place your screen under the teleprompter glass.
Position your display
Use a laptop, monitor, or tablet below the beam-splitter glass so the reflected text sits in front of the lens.
Test readability
Check that the reflected script looks normal, large enough, and comfortable from your recording distance.
Record normally
Once the mirror view is correct, read as usual and let the rig do the rest.
Why Use an Online Teleprompter Mirror?
You do not need special mirror software just to flip your script.
No Extra Software
Open a browser, turn on mirror mode, and go. No desktop install or platform lock-in.
Works With Any Screen
Laptop, monitor, or tablet. If it can display the script, it can work under the glass.
Large Readable Text
Scale the script so it stays comfortable from studio distance, not just from a desk.
Adjustable Speed
Fine-tune the scroll to match your natural delivery instead of fighting preset speeds.
Useful Even Before Hardware
You can practise on-screen first, then turn mirror mode on later when you upgrade to a beam-splitter rig.
Free and Immediate
Mirror mode is built in. No account wall, no paid unlock, no waiting around.
Do You Always Need Mirror Mode?
No. If you are reading directly from a laptop, monitor, or second screen with no reflective glass involved, leave mirror mode off. You only need it when the script is being reflected before it reaches your eyes.
That is why LilPrompter is useful in both setups. It works as a normal browser teleprompter when you are reading straight from the screen, and as a teleprompter mirror when you need the text flipped for a rig.
