Open LilPrompter in a browser window beside Zoom and put your notes near the webcam. Before the call, check what your camera shows and what you're sharing. Your notes stay in a normal browser window, so make sure that window isn't part of the screen share.

How to set up your reading screen

Paste short meeting notes
Use headings, key facts and a clear opening rather than a long uninterrupted read.
Place the reading area near the webcam
Use a narrow readable window and check the camera view.
Check what you're sharing
Select the window with your presentation and check the preview to see what others will see.

Check what you share before presenting

Zoom can share a desktop, selected windows or a region. Your camera won't show text on your desktop, but a screen share can show your script. Application-sharing settings can also include all windows of an app. A second browser window is not automatically hidden.

Choose just the presentation window if you can, then check the preview. You can ask someone in a test call to confirm what they see. If you need to share the whole screen, read your notes on another device. See the full single- and dual-monitor walkthrough.

Prepare a meeting note card

We need to decide when to start the project. Here are the options and what each would involve. [Pause for questions.] Before we finish, let's agree who's doing what and when.

Pause your notes while you listen. When you're ready to speak again, find your next heading and press Play. The scrolling won't adjust to the conversation on its own.

Check where you're looking and try the controls

Record a short test to see where you're looking. Shorter lines and a script window close to the webcam can help reduce visible eye movement. Click into LilPrompter before using its keyboard shortcuts, and keep other windows from covering it. If you use voice commands while unmuted, others may hear them.
