Teleprompter Mirror vs LilPrompter: Two Free Browser Tools

Compare TeleprompterMirror.com’s current browser tool with LilPrompter: shared scrolling and mirror basics, voice modes, local files and the MirrorScript name.

Both Teleprompter Mirror and LilPrompter offer free browser prompting with manual speed, text sizing and horizontal mirroring. Teleprompter Mirror also documents rich text, local file save/load and a separate voice-activated mode. Choose by the workflow you need and rehearse your own script before a real take.

Which Teleprompter Mirror product is compared here?

This comparison covers the current TeleprompterMirror.com browser tool. The same company sells glass and hardware; its glass product page identifies MirrorScript Pro and says it developed MirrorScript. The browser page, hardware store and older desktop downloads are different offerings.

The browser page lists an August 7, 2024 release note. That is the page’s stated release date, rather than a verified last-update date. The feature comparison below was checked against that official page and LilPrompter’s current implementation on October 14, 2026.

If your question is how to reverse text for a glass rig, use the generic mirror-mode setup guide. You do not need to choose this particular brand to use horizontal mirroring.

Choose by the feature you will actually use

Try Teleprompter Mirror when its documented rich-text, local-file or separate voice workflow is the feature you need. Its browser page advertises free use without trial periods, upgrades or limits. Do not interpret “Pro” in the historical MirrorScript name as evidence of a current subscription.

Try LilPrompter when its current reading interface, local script tabs and two settings profiles fit your preparation. Its optional voice commands control playback; they do not listen for your position in the script. It does not import files or synchronize scripts across devices.

Use the same short script when comparing layouts. Include a long word, a number, a paragraph break and a deliberate pause. Set the font from your actual reading position, then test stopping and restarting without losing the line. A feature list helps narrow the choice; that rehearsal shows whether your own setup works comfortably.

Keep a separate script backup

Teleprompter Mirror’s page says script text stays in the browser rather than being uploaded. That is its vendor statement. LilPrompter also keeps script tabs locally in the browser. Local storage is useful for reopening a reading copy on the same browser, but keep an independent master document for important work.

When moving between tools, copy the spoken text and inspect the new reading copy. Check paragraph breaks, names, silent cues and the last line. Set the new tool’s controls again rather than assuming a saved font or speed will transfer. If you use a hardware rig, check the reflected view as well as the text on the screen.

Move a script and rehearse the complete setup

  1. Save your master script outside the prompter.
  2. Copy the final spoken section into the tool you want to try.
  3. Use readable text and a narrow line width before setting speed.
  4. Rehearse a pause, a reset and the ending.
  5. Check the recording or meeting output separately, especially if you capture a display containing the script.

The font-size preview and rehearsal timer can help plan the read. LilPrompter supplies prompting rather than video recording, so choose and test your recording software separately.
